Engagement Photos

Today we had our engagment photos taken at Cox Arboretum. Of course, despite the increase in temperature, it was gray and cloudy.

We met our photographer at an August Bridal Shower (and then waited for a really long time before scheduling an engagement shoot). We missed summer shots, fall leaf shots, early snow pictures, and ended up getting our pictures done in what feels like early spring weather.

As dweeby as it sounds, Rob and I took some pre-pictures at home to make sure that we liked what were are wearing. Of course, this was after long discussions of what "kind" of picture we wanted.

Rob and I do not have many pictures of us. I have lots of Rob hiking. He has some of me.

We have a few that we have taken with the fantastic 'hold the camera at arm's legnth." Rob typically does this as I always cut off our heads.
While we won't see the photos until next week, I am excited to see how they turned out.

Invitations have been sent!

Rob and I have reconciled our differences with the Post Office.  At this post office, they showed us exactly why the invitations were oversized.  I have also learned a lot about mailing things.  For example, for those of you who are thinking, "I'll just write the address on the skinny side of the envelope and save a lot of money!" are mistaken.  The post office will most definitely return it to you.  Don't play games with them.

We did have the opportunity to hand cancel all of the invitations (moms and dad - yours have not yet been sent) which was fun.  I got to do the cancelling as Rob was worried he would do it incorrectly.  I am not sure how you do it incorrectly as all that needed to happen was to make sure the cancellation stamp covered both of the stamps.

To celebrate, I decided to take Rob out for lunch at one of the Top Three Breakfast Places in Dayton.  Every place was busy or closed.  We ended up at Denny's.
