7 Takes - Vol. 14 Post Christmas

--- 1 ---

Each Christmas Eve, my MIL's family gets together and usually the day after Christmas my FIL's Family gets together.  Even though they all (with the exception THREE cousins and their families) all live in the same town, this is pretty much the only time they get together as a group. Hannabert was the star attraction and amazed "my" cousins with his adventurous taste: spinach/artichoke dip, cranberry nut salad, and whatever else he ate that they, as adults, will not eat. Plus he was sporting a t-shirt with a fake tie and Santa diapers.

--- 2 ---

I made jalapeno poppers off of Pinterest and was confident that they were going to be a PinterestFail that I took pictures.

I am almost disappointed that they turned out well. Which they did. Even with canned peppers rather than fresh.  Thanks for FIL for bringing me surgical gloves to wear while chopping the peppers. That said, no one in Horn's families likes spicy things. They were, however, all gone when I reemerged later in the evening from my virus induced chills.

--- 3 ---

Yep, I got sick on Christmas Eve with an intense, bed shaking, 10 blankets necessary, virus of unknown origins. It remained with me for 2, long, cold days. I didn't make it to Midnight Mass (conveniently held at 10pm).

--- 4 ---

Hannabert is crazy cool. Look at the video.

--- 5 ---

One strange note, all of a sudden, I started reacting to my wedding ring. Across the top of my finger where the ring belongs is a oozing red line. Not cool, although, if it scars, it will be a permanent wedding ring I guess...

--- 6 ---

I was really excited to sleep in our own bed last night (until Hannabert work up around 4am). More exciting was that I got baby/toddler snuggles which I didn't get at all over Christmas (too much to see! too much to do!).

7 Takes - Vol. 13 Pre-Christmas Edition

--- 1 ---

I am very thankful that I have in-laws that love Hannabert nearly as much as Horn and I do. Mom in-law is watching him while I attend "Advanced Trial Techniques" CLE. I am pretty sure she dropped everything to spend the day with him.

--- 2 ---

I am even more thankful that they let him play and that Horn and I are ok with messes.  Otherwise I wouldn't have received these pictures of him decorating his hair with green icing.

--- 3 ---

The green icing was from a Rice Krispy House kit. Mom wanted to make cookies and gingerbread houses with Hannabert but wisely, dad suggested the perhaps the gingerbread house was a bit advanced for a 22 mth old. She was so excited about baking with him, I went ahead and picked up the kit.

--- 4 ---

Each year, Ohio requires 1/2 of the attorneys to report.  In even years, M to Z report and in odd years, A to L report. My CLE (20 people) only has 1 other nonreporter in it. All of the attorneys know each other. I am also only 1 of 3 females taking the class. It is suppose to be an advanced class on trial techniques but so far I have found it completely understanable. I completely enjoy the NBI classes. PS I am slightly concerned that the current presenter is suggesting that attorneys bring printers with them to the counsel table during trial...It is apparently less yieldly than bringing copies with you...

--- 5 ---

Horn and I managed to get packed for Christmas and even remembered to bring Hannabert's clothing.  Hannabert actually helped us pack his suitcase. This consisted of him throwing random items into the suitcase as fast as Horn and I could rescue them. It was incredibly cute.

--- 6 ---

I was heartbroken to read that Russia is no longer allowing US adoptions. There are 100s of thousand children waiting for forever families. Please remember pray for this ban to be lifted.

--- 7 ---
As a side note, I am know stalking (not really but she writes on a special interest of mine) my cubicle mate's fiancee.  Not literally but she writes a highly entertaining blog on crazy cookbook recipes.  Please check it out. I KNOW my mom has some of these in her repitoire (or is is repertoire?).

Final Note Please remember to find time to pause and pray that God continues to touch your life and the lives around you. Stop into a church, attend mass, spend time meditating, celebrate the solstice, or just be with loved ones and enjoy their presence. If you aren't near loved ones, stop in and visit at a nursing home or a hospital. Don't wait to show others you care. Merry Christmas.

7 Takes - Volume 12

--- 1 ---
First and foremost, my prayers are with the victims of the Newton School shooting. I cannot imagine and I never hope to know the anguish these families are feeling.

--- 2 ---
This makes me even more anxious to see Hannabert and hug Horn when we get home tonight.

--- 3 ---
I am looking forward to the Heart to Heart Sling Share at Corinth Church tomorrow morning.

--- 4 ---
I just learned the position that I didn't get at work might have been a good thing - I don't know if I would want to spend 6 weeks at a time over sees doing training to representatives that will be replacing my current co-workers (and of course, I would hate to leave Horn and Hannabert for that long).

--- 5 ---
I am still interested in pursing new opportunities. Anyone need my combination of law license, research skills, and administrative skills?

--- 6 ---
Best kid.Ever

--- 7 ---

Enjoyed freaking out some students who were collecting canned goods. They threw trash down the storm drain. I told them I appreciated their service and I would refrain from calling their school and reporting their illegal activities.

You've Been Mugged | A Mug Swap

I participated in the

You've Been Mugged | A Mug Swap

Per my usual operating techniques, my mug was sent out a bit late (oops).

I sent a much and tea ball purchases from a local cooking shop and loose leaf team from our local tea company

To be honest my husband picked out the tea.

I was paired with Mariah from BraggAboutCreation. She has the sweetest little on and makes fantastic crochet/knitted goodies. Catch her on her facebook page as well!

Hopefully she received the tea and has been able to sit down and enjoy a cup.

Not my picutre: http://www.last.fm/music/Relaxation

Mariah, as busy as she is with Christmas orders and a new little one, sent me this:

She included the tip that the Tazo Calm and Rest make great bath time teas!
