7 Takes 2012 Part 16

Part of the "Who doesn't love Seven Thought" with Jen!

1.  It looks like Horn and I are buying a house.

2. Just after the interest rates took a bounce after being stagnant for a while.  Yippy Skippy!

3. Buying a house is scary.

4. My desire to buy really cheap and do a total renovation is completely tampered by the lack of time we have.

5. So you should "shop" for a loan but you shouldn't "shop too much" for a loan because then it looks like you are "loan shopping"?  Do I have that rigth?

6. I hate having to find a new church :(

7. On a non house post: We took Hannabert to his first baseball game. He enjoyed the ice cream and juice box that came with this "kiddie" meal. He especially loved playing with kids on the grassy knoll.
STILL having molar problems

7 Takes, 2013 Part 15

Hosted by Jen at ConversionDiary!

1. Finished 60+ hours of training on new information at work. I now can assisted you with dirt digging and creating prospect lists. Yes, I am a licensed attorney.

2. My trainer, who didn't know that German was in Europe, just got a new position within the company which meant our last 20 hours of training were a tad bit..eh.

3. Horn and I are still looking for a house. We are thinking we want a better school district than the initial place we were looking even though we really want Hannabert and his future siblings to attend single-sex private schools.

4. Boris, the mouse living in our house, assaulted Horn last night. He was most displeased. I am for live trapping and gentle release. He is for mass annihilation.

5. Hannabert accompanied me to the doctor to have my tonsils looked examined. They are coming out. Hannabert was great at the appointment (so much that he requested we go again this morning) so I decided to take him out to breakfast. He asked for some "cockey" at breakfast (I will admit I gave him a sip to which he responded "Spicy.").  At dinner he wanted some more so I made him some hot chocolate in our Keurig and went as far as to retrieve my favorite travel mug from the University of Notre Dame.

6.  Horn had a rough day at work yesterday.  Something with jury instructions and people not listening. Good thing I was more chipper than usual and didn't complain about anything upon walking into the house.

Minus the beer but we did have leftover pizza...

7.  Least of all, say a prayer for the soldiers and citizens that protect our freedoms.  As a child, my mom was township clerk and she had the responsibility of raising and lowering the flag for all holidays. We would attend a number of Memorial Day Observances in the local community. I highly encourage everyone to find a local observation and attend. The ceremony is always very moving and, unfortunately, there are less and less members of VFW to provide the ceremony.

Win a New CAR! Actually an oven which might be better...

I am an avid follower of Grace at www.camppatton.com (like I spent last night awake thinking of awesome things Theo, Bash, and Julia could do so that she could blog about...)

I was super excited to see that she blogged about an amazing stove that does not require respiratory masks and home evacuation to clean.  So motivated that I wrote this blog just to gain an additional entry.

Look! Look! (as my equally cute child Hannabert might say).

Gas lines! LG has you covered.  Electric? No problem!

What? Not impressed because many oven come in either variety. I hear you loud and clear but let me through this at  you - how many stoves do you know that only take 3 steps to clean?

Convection! Infrared! Quick Boil! Weak in the knees am I.

7 Takes, 2013 Part 14

--- 1 ---

Either people are not interested in leaving comments or I have seriously messed up the Google + comment feature.

--- 2 ---

These will NOT be matching Auntie and niece dresses. Yep, I am an auntie. Welcome to the world Emma Grace!

--- 3 ---

Hannabert: "MY PHONE"
Me: Ok.
Hannabert: Throws phone into the car door.

--- 4 ---

Went to a networking event at work. Decided I need real clothes to wear to work as appearance seems to display professionalism.  I typically wear capri pants and long sleeve t-shirts. I did NOT wear that to the event and it was a good thing.

--- 5 ---

Might finally be over my issues that surrounded Hannabert's birth. Actually, I think that I am.

--- 6 ---

Horn and I are deciding if we should buy a house and make a forever home. I feel we should spend money that typically would pay for a house like this

but that amount should give us a house that looks like this

--- 7 ---
I am most concerned about finding a new church family as we are really just kind of getting into our current church family.

7 Takes, 2013 vol. 13

--- 1 ---

We had a bit of wind last night and thousands of "spinner" came off our roof. Hannabert and Horn loved them.
Pre-gaming with Pizza

--- 2 ---

Starbucks Caramel Crunch Frappuccino.  Pay absolutely NO attention to the calories.

--- 3 ---

We went to a marriage retreat last Friday at our church. It was the first time they have done a "newlywed" retreat and I have to say that, while Horn was reluctant because of a long week and his thought that we weren't being served dinner, we both really enjoyed the opportunity to connect and spend time together while Hannabert was off with the provided babysitting. It focused on the importance of prayer in the family. How do you incorporate family prayer in your family?

As a side note, Mrs. Dr. Herchline is a ped. at our current practice.
--- 4 ---

We are trying to discern (it sounds funny to use that word) a few things in our family:
  • Should we move down to Cincinnati completely with the thought that I will get a job there?
  • Should we move 1/2 between our jobs with the thought that it might be some time before I get a job in Cincinnati>
Any good thoughts for what prayers would be appropriate in this situation?
--- 5 ---
A nice reminder of how words have power.

--- 6 ---

As Mother's Day approaches, please remember to pray for our husbands, our fathers, our children on earth, our children who are in heaven, our children to be, our own mother's, and our Most Holy of Mothers, Mary.

Who by virtue of your divine motherhood,
Hast become mother of us all
I place the charge which God has given me,
under your loving protection.
Be a Protecting Mother to my children.
Guard their bodies and
keep them in health and strength.
Guard their minds and keep their thoughts ever holy
in the sight of their Creator and God.
Guard their hearts and keep them pure and strong and
happy in the love of God.
Guard always their souls and ever preserve in them,
faithfully, the glorious image of God
whom they received in Holy Baptism.
Always Mother, protect them and keep them
under your Mothering care.
Supply in your all-wise motherhood,
for my poor human deficiencies
and protect them from all evil.
Amen.
Queen of the Most Holy Family,
Pray for us.

Last Picture - Horn and I did study abroad during our first year of law school.  By CHANCE, pure chance, we were in Rome for Sts. Peter & Paul Feast Day. By CHANCE, we entered the square just in time to see Blessed Pope John Paul II give his general audience and blessing. It was amazing.

O Blessed Trinity, we thank You for having
graced the Church with Blessed John Paul
II and for allowing the tenderness of Your
Fatherly care, the glory of the Cross of
Christ, and the splender of the Spirit of love,
to shine through him. Trusting fully in
Your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession
of Mary, he has given us a living
image of Jesus the Good Shepherd, and has
shown us that holiness is the necessary
measure of ordinary Christian life and is
the way of achieving eternal communion
with You. Grant us, by his intercession, and
according to Your will, the graces we implore,
hoping that he will soon be numbered
among Your saints. Amen

One of those days..

I had one of those days where  you compression undergarment falls down between your knees as you are rushing into work after having to park in the back 40 and running late because your prior job's meeting went late and your only option for eating involves a vending machine.

They are now happily residing

Yep, that kind of day.
